Morgana, Madonna and Felix

Yes, these are the cats I take care of once a week. Today someone did my duties so I’ll come back tomorrow. But I got to see them and wish they could all get new homes as soon as possible.

These are pets that were relinquished to a local non-profit that are being housed temporarily at a local pet store. I clean their enclosures and socialize them. These are all young, one is very tiny and she was left at the shelter, pregnant, and now her kittens are grown and hopefully have good homes.

This morning I have to get there early because they have a major delivery and I want to have them taken care of beforehand. No, it’s not an ideal situation. I felt for the adoptables so took on this shift but need to know more. Right now I know the people at the store do care for animals and I respect them for their work. Now I need to check out the non-profit shelter. Yes, I’ve been cooking for many years, but have volunteered for animals for the past 20 years and am adamant that conditions be right.

Read it, people. I don’t care. I have one dog, and one fish in a coffee pot (Java, software, a gift for my husband) and am in trouble for the dog even though her existence was disclosed before I even knew anything about our current home. Advocate, agitator yes; hoarder, no. There’s a “man” in our neighborhood who is macing dogs, on- and off-leash. He only strikes when a sole woman is his target. Thus the term “man.” Now I hear he’s turned to macing Latino children because he believes they’re all illegal. There are a host of police reports but no-one will do anything.

Must get ready for the day. Zoe’s at my feet, she came downstairs to go out. The birds are singing even though the sun is not quite up yet. Kitties today! Cheers, Dee

One response to “Morgana, Madonna and Felix

  1. The same three are there this week and their personalities are coming out. Morgana gives out little love bites because she doesn’t want to let go. Madonna is one smart cookie, and Felix should be renamed Houdini. They’re all sweet and I love that I’m old enough and experienced enough to only hope they get good homes. Sadly, ski season is nearing its end here and mud season awaits but it would be best if they went home to locals and not folks who are here for a week and may consider them disposable. Dee
