Today we spent a little while watching the beginning of Star Wars Episode 1 while looking for something inexpensive and fun to do this weekend. Later on we drove by a Scottish Festival but it was just people selling stuff in booths so we didn’t pay to enter.
Once we got home I checked local activities and found a movie at the artsy theatre called “Fan Boys” about a group of friends who got together 20 years ago not wanting to wait another year for Star Wars Episode 1 to open, so decided to drive across country and raid Skywalker Ranch to steal a copy of the film and watch it before their friend, who has cancer, dies.
So we have a Valentines’ date tomorrow, 11:30 a.m., to see the movie. Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher, William Shatner, Seth Rogen and others are in this film which didn’t get great rewards on the “tomatometer” but is prized by fans.
We expect the phones to be quiet tomorrow as most of Jim’s prospects are in banking and the markets are closed due to President’s Day.
It would be nice to know if we’re staying here or moving so we can get to work either way. All for now, Cheers from Dee
FanBoys was fun, especially if you’re a devotee of Star Wars. No I don’t know Chewbacca’s home planet but these guys do! It was fun to do on a slow day, and we didn’t get out to lunch once this week as we promised, no flowers for V-Day or anything. We’re being frugal and I’m making stuffed peppers, an old family meal.
