Thanks

Thanks for sticking with me as I learn this and through a job change and root canal surgery. While I’m not a numbers fiend, I do check them out several times a day and you read my posts, write to me and keep me going.

It’s very interesting that two groups who are very active on the site are military spouses and knitters. I am supportive of every member of our military, in action or otherwise. Of course I support their wives and children. As to the knitters my Aunt knits all the time and alternates between shawls to donate to the VA and caps and booties for neonates.

Hopefully I can give you reasons to continue visiting this blog, because cooking is a passion for me and not for the sake of being famous or having a great restaurant, but catering to the people I love, friends and family.

Please keep cooking, especially if you’re afraid to do so. One friend called me today and loved the cucumber salad recipe from my grandmother and said it was so easy!

Ask questions, share recipes and cookbook recommendations. Please keep in touch as this blog is here for you! Dee

  1. Saw your recent post on Beef on Weck…Bailo’s is long gone, but many a good Beef on Weck can still be had, (Charlie the Butcher to name just one source). This past Sunday I had one at the Allentown Art Festival…remember that? As much people-watching as anything else, but the kids and I enjoyed it (Jim was at the US Open). (The beef could have been sliced thinner, but the roll was sufficiently salty and of course horseradish to finish it off).
You forgot another Buffalo specialty, though candy not food….sponge candy! I always thought it was available everywhere, until we tried buying it while out of town. For the uninitiated, it’s spun sugar covered with milk chocolate. Due to humidity and heat, I don’t think you can get it during the summer months, but it’s worth waiting for!
PS Thanks for the recommendations for cookware, Calphalon it will be!

  2. I’m so tickled you found my blog by one of those random “You might like it” tags on yours! I’m not going anywhere…I love popping in to see what’s going on and, if I may say so, military wives ROCK! I might not, but those I read regularly do… Happy Wednesday!

  3. Yes, Susan, you rock.
