You have crossed the line. Whatever being you are serving, whether yourselves or a delusional deity, is not impressed with your works. One gunned down twenty people in front of a Safeway (pardon the pun) in Tucson. Others make themselves known by protesting funerals.
Shame on you. One could say “get help” but that would fall on deaf ears. Perhaps you’re delusional or psychotic and none of your family or friends noticed? They may have noticed and are afraid of you so didn’t speak up. Or perhaps the people you’re supposed to talk to, guidance counselors, professors, police, didn’t listen. Or worse, didn’t care or didn’t want to talk about it.
I’ve lived in small towns where everyone’s business is discussed, and big cities where no-one knows their neighbors. With a psych and soc background in college I’d like to think I’d know a sociopath when I see one. I do stay away from religious cults and would never consider boycotting a funeral, even old boyfriends deserve better than that. Dignity.
I was always a sponge, learning everything I could from every conversation, book, movie and lesson. Dignity is what I learned. I’ve never raised a hand to another or had one raised against me. I will talk politics or religion when needed.
When I was 12 I moved south of the Mason-Dixon line and was forced to take up a BB gun in gym class and shoot at a box in several positions. I failed miserably. I shook so hard I couldn’t hit anything. All I was told was that any Southern Gentlewoman knows how to use a gun.
Now, I think of Sarah Brady and her husband who was greatly injured when President Reagan was hit. The Bradys passed legislation to require background checks of anyone buying a gun. I was shocked when we moved to Texas and guns were on sale at Wal-Mart. Other than those horrific days in school I’d never seen a gun or known how one could be purchased.
Now one of the Virginia Tech massacre survivors has a film showing how easy it is to buy a semi-automatic weapon without identification. A mentally disturbed man just killed a Federal judge and may have fatally wounded his target, a Member of Congress and killed five others and injured many in a tirade.
What is called a “church” is protesting funerals of children killed in this insane massacre. All I can say is that your god isn’t a god at all. Whatever I believe, I have faith, there are no guns in our home, we want people who own guns to pass the Brady Law, and if you think someone wants you to kill someone – get help. Talk to your folks, a friend or someone. Please. Thank you, Dee
