My father-in-law has never been here and he collects a rock from every place he has visited. My in-laws recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
I found a small, heart-shaped rock on the beach this summer that I’ve been saving. It will be framed by Friday in barn board for their new home and come with us to TX for my 10th anniversary of being formally in the family and, more importantly, their 40th wedding anniversary. Belated, of course.
