to me. My husband led by his stomach and eagerness to see a kitchen implement his mother or grandmother never had. A simple food mill. Granted, this is stainless steel with three interchangeable discs.
It arrived yesterday and I went to pick it up but left it in the box in the back of the car. He checked it out when he got home, and tonight I made sure to cook mashed potatoes so he could learn to use it. Now he’s done with it (he’s a physicist and this is remedial tech to him) and he doesn’t mess with my kitchen except to get ice and water.
Also, Jim will have to ask his mother and grandmother over Thanksgiving whether they’ve ever used a low-tech food mill.
Unfortunately he heard me joking with someone about filling his stomach when considering a birthday gift. So he went out and got me a dozen pink roses tonight, how sweet! So was the food mill, because apparently I’ve been mentioning one for years.
On my birthday tomorrow I’m making an appetizer (going retro) and going to a dog’s birthday party for dinner. It’s a good way to get neighbors together. Y’all have a great weekend. Dee
Happy birthday to you! Hope it’s a good one. Pink roses are sweet!
