Our friends in TX have been subject to fires and high winds, a desperate climate that needs to change. Last night we called to check on Jim’s father, who said there wasn’t a tornado, but it sounded like a freight train went by. btw, people in TX don’t have basements. The water table is high and the earth doesn’t freeze like it does in the northeast and west. There’s nowhere to go underground in a tornado.
We love the west, where we now have a crawl space I’ve never entered. That’s where we’d go if a tornado came this way. For years we were in the path of hurricanes, left for one (shouldn’t have) and stayed for another (should have left town). Why is it we always choose wild weather areas?
We’re finally getting out of here, driving on a long weekend trip to check out places further than a day trip can take us. Bad news is it’ll be mud season there, too. Oh well, it’ll be different and we’ll have a change of scenery for a couple of days. Cheers! Dee
