End of Fall

The aspens are turning now, giving us swaths of yellow that change every hour in the sunlight. This week it’s been raining quite liberally and dog and I are trying to avoid it as much as we can. The thunder upsets her and she now hides by me. But now our driveway is being jackhammered and concrete sealed with noxious materials (I had to put a bath towel under the front door) so we rarely go out front for now.

Morning Rains

Made it, first time, to the Wednesday market. I cut down on my Wednesday deliveries so I could finally, after 18 months, go to the market. It’s probably the last week for the peaches, and my sample was delicious. A few heirloom tomatoes and a bag of freshly picked Jonathan apples and I was on my way, nearly missing the rain. They had a fire pit in the middle of the market with benches and this one lady and her dog looked like being around all this food and warmth was heaven.

And then the Sun

This was yesterday morning. We do live in a gorgeous place. Dinner party on Friday. I’ll send you the menu when it’s finalized. In the meantime, enjoy the Fall or promise of it. Keep cooking, and reading! Cheers, Dee

  1. So when someone says I have my head in the clouds, see first photo, I can answer yes, affirmatively. I’m enjoying the rain because inside it’s 35% humidity which means my fingers don’t crack and I don’t get shocked by kitchen appliances! Dee
