What if we were celebrities? One may assume hangers-on, those who bilk us for security and medical care and homes, catering, travel and entertainment.
Wait, we regular people have to do all those things ourselves. Stop the Thriller record. I would have my life in a heartbeat, rather than any celebrity, especially Michael Jackson. It’s not just that he’s dead, it’s the people who sucked the life out of him while he was alive and now want to profit from any connection to this sad failed superstar.
What makes my day? Thought put into something meaningful. Writing, taking care of things, cooking for our family, making sure the dog gets her walks and dinner.
There’s a reason my blog is dedicated to cooking. And now that Mom is gone, I’m sure my sisters will keep up cooking and great baking. My brother cooks great food, German and Italian and French. They’re all very talented in the kitchen.
Jim doesn’t cook anything, thank goodness. So that’s what you get. I would trust my family, especially my husband, with my life and death. Under no circumstances is Jim allowed to cook for my funeral so Margie, that falls to you, my mother-in-law. I’ll work out the details later. We’ll work them out for both of us.We will work our details because too many people do not and ours will be simple. Celebrity complications aside, it’s important to have things in place.
The day before we left home to come here a box arrived from Mom’s estate and it was all sealed up and we were sweaty and working hard and all I did was put “FRAGILE” stickers on it. It may be her recipes and potato masher. I hope it is because I want to write a book about her and our family recipes.
Cheers! Dee
