I’ve decided that after taxes and moving et al, I’d like to enter a peaceful stage of life for a few months in a vacation and wildlife paradise as I want to see the foxes.
Late may, 2008 we were at Jim’s folks in NE TX and he created this blog. I don’t think I touched it until the first of June, scared silly. Then he told me to write. Write what you know, what you teach, what you feel.
It was a bit rocky at first but I learned a lot from you. My high school and college friends wrote in. New friends were made. I am amazed at the power of the written word.
The power out here is flaky so I lost 2/3 of this post. Before, it was poignant. Now, nearly an hour later, I yearn for sleep.
We’ve gone through a lot this past year, the death of my mother, and my dad and stepmom being sick, too. Jobs, hardship, moving. I’m looking for a few months of peace and may have found it.
This blog, though I didn’t want it in the first place, has been a haven for my inspirations and a few rants. The blog wouldn’t be here without you. I’m going to send this now before the Utah power goes flaky again.
Thanks to pdx, Susan, Writing by Ear, old friends Pam and the Swamp’s Wils. Love you guys. Keep reading and writing.
We’ll leave the Rithmatic to Jim!!! Cheers, Dee
Oh, How To Eat a Concord Grape is the most-read entry, fyi. Thanks Contis and Deakins!
Just keep hitting that “save post” button as you write, and you’re golden!
Enjoying your adventures, vicariously.
Yep, amazing how dependent one becomes upon this outlet ;-)…
But sleep’s good too – I crashed @ 9:45 PM Mon night to do a little catchin’ up!
Always look forward to seeing what’s up with you, Dee! I, too, have been amazed by how much writing my blog has done for me…the written word is a powerful thing!
