Historic moments…

Today, a new world is upon us. The Lincoln Bible lent by the Library of Congress stirred my heart, especially as President Obama was the first President to use it since President Lincoln in 1861. People in Europe think we have no history, yes we have history.

It’s interesting that President Obama’s speech was not for the ages, but for us. It is up to us to fulfill these promises and hold our government, President Obama at the helm, accountable.

My favorite segment today was Malia taking photos, with her camera, and sharing them with VP Biden. Yeah, I’m a sucker for the photo-op, but this was a reverse.

When it comes to Bibles, I noticed that the First Lady carried the Lincoln Bible. The Biden Bible was handed to his wife pre-oath and it’s no wonder. I read that this Bible has been in his family for many years but it was somewhat humorous to see it in its entirety.

Today, I believe that all of us should be proud. Also, I believe that Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Robert Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young, Coretta Scott King, Aretha, Muhammed Ali, George Washington Carver, Shirley Chisholm, Paul Robeson, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman and so many others paved the way for this historic day.

Aretha made me cry for my country, The President made me hope for the future, and Rev. Lowery put things in place. God Bless America, the land I love. Cheers and let’s hope the economy strengthens, Dee
