Giving Thanks

Thank you for giving me the courage to look inside and talk about what I believe needs to be said about cooking and life.

This has been a very difficult year, with the death of my mother.  My family has grown and dwindled.  The people who knew and loved my mother are still surfacing over many years and it is gratifying to know that she made such an impact on many stages during her life.  With that I don’t mean life stages, but areas in which she was adept at which no-one expected her to be.

Life is lesser with her passing.  We have celebrations planned over the holidays and Jim and I will spend a quiet Christmas together.  Yes, we will celebrate, with song and if Jim will have it, ballet.  He’s agreed to see The Nutcracker! Imagine that.  Next is opera.  OK we have to get though this one first.

One step at a time.  Thank you for sticking with me through my first six months of blogging.  There’s still a lot more for me to learn and write.

Wishing the best to you and your family during this holiday season,  Dee
