God Bless America

I’m a newbie @ iTunes so just tuned in to a new favorite, Juni Fisher, who studied Marty Robbins, Joan Baez and Burl Ives.  She’s not only a song writer and singer, she’s a story-teller and thus someone we should champion.

Just the way my tunes went, the next song was “God Bless America,” by Kate Smith.  I bought that one for July 4th and it is moving any day of the year.

No matter how you voted this year, know that many people voted and this is what our nation is going to look like.  I do hope that there is a spirit of bi-partisanship on both sides of the aisle in Washington that will help others.

Our jobs hang in the balance while our young people are off to risk their lives for all our futures.  At some point, something has to give.  Billions of dollars to banks and the stock market are not going to do it as they’re pocketing it all for themselves/golden parachutes and shareholders.  The non-rich Americans have been left, once again, hoisting up our economy.  Yes, things must change.

I’m not an economist.  Well, yes I am.  I’m going to cook an economical stew that is easy on the pocketbook and the environment.  Dee
