They must be eating something right!

Our Olympic gymnasts put in great performances that earned our gents a bronze and our ladies a silver team medal. Those who quibble with medal status have no idea how many countries were left by the wayside on this quest for gold.

Perhaps because NBC Sports only shows us the top three teams, and cuts away whenever Michael Phelps is in range of chlorinated water. And we know he eats everything, is an amazing athlete and I find it even more interesting than seeing impressive gymnasts to see him wriggle underwater like a mer-man to beat his competition. I hear his knees are double-jointed and his ankles quite flexible.

Do you think before he was born and the movie “Local Hero” was made he may have been the offspring of the mermaid and Scottish linguist? It is a distinct possibility.

Speaking of local heroes, Jonathan Horton grew up around Houston and has many fans in Texas although he went to school elsewhere. Great job everyone!

  1. Splash. Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah. Yep, it’s their kid. The Mom is just out of the water for a short time to cheer on the boy and has to go into the sea every evening. Hanks’ character took a powder early on when he went back to his NYC apartment because it was rent-controlled. No-one leaves a rent-controlled apartment in NYC. Problem solved.

  2. Left a message on slate.com on gymnastics and the new numbers.
