The days when Catholics go on a pilgramage to venerate the Virgin Mary. Yet a Houston bus with no license to drive out of state and illegal retread tires crashed and killed 15 Houstonians en route to Marian Days.
They crashed in Sherman TX where there are hospital facilities and kind people to attend to the living, but 15 of 55 have already died.
Jim’s folks live about an hour from there and the people are nice but don’t necessarily speak Vietnamese. Hopefully there are interpreters on site.

These are the two Houston churches the parishioners who died or were injured, came from.
Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this difficult time.
Familes are being housed temporarily at St. Patrick’s Church, 416 N. Rusk Ave. Denison TX. The Houston church links are mainly Vietnamese, other than this one. I’m sure they could use money and supplies for the families, will check later when they’re open and let you know.
