Idealism

I heard today that employers view idealism as as a negative quality in employees in their thirties (supposedly old enough to know better than to believe this world can be a better place). Perhaps idealism is connected with ethics, a willingness to solve problems and create workable solutions. Also intelligence, creativity and honesty.

If all these qualities are described as negatives by the very businesses who have placed us in this credit debacle then we know exactly what caused it and why two Bear Stearns execs were arrested today.

Forget hiring honest, smart folks who can help your business. Continue to drive your business down the drain and most likely the Feds will bail you out. Whose pocket does that come from? Ours.

Tonight I made the cheater lasagne and Jim loved it, as always. This time I used an expensive $6.15 sauce with mushrooms, but spent nothing on meat and I already had the no-boil noodles.

We have to draw the line somewhere with the troops and the sub-prime crisis. Sorry, but our President is concerned today with his legacy, “considering” oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge that he can do now because he’s a lame duck. He raised that issue his first year in office.

Money is one thing, young American lives are another. Much more important. Please find a way, new President, to give things over to the Iraquis and allow our troops to come home to their families.

It’s been an interesting day but info will have to wait. Dee
